Using hurtfull words as adjectives

Maybe posts should include a "joke ON" or "joke OFF" light , so we know how the person meant what he/she posted :bee:

It's not funny if you have to tell people it's a joke.

Or maybe we should all assume it is a joke or just ignore it :)

Funny or not, it might clear up some confusion... just saying...

oh and since it WAS a joke, but you took it serious, Mike, I guess it wasn't funny

.op for me

No one asked my opinion... but I am not one to care. So here goes...

LIGHTEN THE **** UP! :bowing:

KTHANKSBYE!

Lets focus on what people do, not so much on what they say. Words are just that, words.

ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORKS people. And yes, I am yelling.

Why we yelling????????? What did I miss???????

Did anyone else notice that the OP has left her own thread?!

Who was the .op??

OOPS...I mean the op?

I understand not liking some words, however im not going to give a word I dont like power over me I dont like the word **** and at times DH will use it and when he does its for a reason but im not going to throw stuff at him or yell at him cause of it hes a 41 year old man and its his right to use that word and if I react to it overly I am giving that word power over me

Just curious. Does he say that in front of your 2 crazy kids?

M
As Mike asked, your husband is a jackass and diminishes himself every time he uses that language, but what is more horrific and damning is if he uses that language in front of your children. What is it teaching them? It has nothing to do with 'giving a word power over you' but knowing that the N word is hurtful to others and using it in front of your children teaches them to hurt others as well and make them appear as trash.

As far as I'm concerned, there is NEVER a reason to use such a word.

I am disappointed no one else is shocked a school administrator referred to a student as deformed.

Was 2 years ago...and STILL shocks the **** outta me.
I am extremely shocked. How is that man still in his position?

It is quite shocking and disturbing. Those who work with these kids should especially be more cautious of thier words. Even more in a situation like you described where they are dealing with a dispute or whatever between two students!

It also shows that people are unsure of what or how they are supposed to say certain things. There are times when I don't know what to say and I have a special kiddo myself. However what offends one may not offend another.

It was a woman...and probably because Emmalee, the other administrator and I were the only people in the room.

The boy's mother wasn't there....or I am SURE something would have happened.

BTW, 2 years later...she was no longer a Dean....she is now a Special Ed teacher at the high school. :bee::bee:

That's scary!!!!!!
