Vampire: Blood in the Water

Liz stared at the new surroundings, teh man seemed very polite. Everyone seemed to know shade...but why?? he seemed....well beyond anything she could comprehend...couldn't anyone tel what he really looked like?

She kept shifting between what she believed was the real him adn the one everyone else could see. She looked to the others, but they seemed transfixed on other things. Her attention hadn't shifted from Shade since the first moment she had let her eyes on the 'other' him.

What was she going to do?? She couldn't tell anyone, maybe she should ask him???.....but what if this side of him was a secret...? surely he must know that she could see this??

occ: pfft cant do anything until something is said **sigh**

OOC: I'm sure he'd love to, Night, but he's workin' right now...with...four or five hours till he's off. Poor sod, spending all day out in this heat. (*relaxing in my a/c-cooled cube*)

OOC: Lol, sorry bout that. Thanks for auto-piloting me, though. 10 hour shifts tend to last awhile.

IC: Great... And now they were hungry. Shade had made their aquaintences, and noted Liz's continued glances. At first he thought nothing of it... until he saw her staring directly at 'Bit.'. This was an interesting group Anaïs had brought with her this time. From the feel of them, the mundanity of being a vampire hadn't quite set into them yet. That was always a good sign. The drive down to see the Prince didn't take too long. Such chivalrous titles the vampires always used. One of the few things he could stand about them. If nothing else, they were creative at times. Shade greeted Hawthorne, his voice barely audible over the noise. He introduced his aquaintences, and upon receiving his drink, promptly downed it. Nothing like a good (actual) mocha to rile up the nerves more. As Hawthorne relayed the latest events, Shade gave a quick wave and whispered: "Hold on... He's still around? I thought that psycho was gone! " Turning to the group he continued "Man, that guy's got a Katana! That's gotta mean he's hardcore! Ok, so if you sees him, take off." With that, he nodded to the Prince, looked at Anaïs and whispered "Let's shall. By the way, you're friend Liz can see me..."

Anaïs stopped. Liz could WHAT? Oh ****, oh ****, oh hellarsedamn. She would have to deal with this later. Not in front of the Prince. Hell of a way to make a good impression, right? With a smile she didn't quite feel, she murmured (for Shade's ears only) that they would talk later.

A little louder, she requested Shade's escort down to the market and then a place to crash that was...friendly towards the night-denizens...if he would be so kind. The club would wait...though if she waited until tomorrow, it would be the weekend, and there was likely to be a rave. Easier to hide their activities that way, and a brutally shocking introduction to the seedier side of modern life.

OOC : Heh, it's not like everyone supposed to see that little guy! :eusa_whis

IC: Shade nodded. The market would be a good place to turn them loose for a bit. Lots of dark corners for them to do that whole blood-thing. Besides, he was gettin hungry too. He shot a grin to the group, beckoned with one long finger and whispered "Come!" And led the way down the street. He knew of a place for them to sleep during the day. They might not like it though. But it will suffice until they get something better.

Quickly, as they neared the market, he whispered to the group: "Stick nearby, you never know what you'll find in this place. Stay with at least 1 other person. And be mindful on who you go after... watch for the ones who... " His voice was quickly lost in the louder music and crowd noise. He continued trying to finish, barely audible... but gave up from frustration and motioned them in...

ooc: i'm dragging you along Liz 'cuz you are the only one online lol, but i shall leave it open.

Anais and Shade led the group through a whole new city. Paris was astounding, the Americas though were beyond amazing. Paris still had the look and feel of older times, despite all the new technology and the new culture, the buildings had a look that was comforting. Here in this "Seattle", everything was completely different. All the architecture was ...wrong. Dante couldn't place his finger on it, but it was all so unfamiliar. In Paris he did not feel completely lost, there was a tiny sense of familiarity. Here in the Americas he was truly lost, with nothing familiar but the group of them.

They came to a shop, and the shopkeep was apparently a Prince. An odd place for a Prince to be keeping, he should be off in his castle, but Dante had made enough of a fool of himself for the day so he kept his mouth shut as Shade and the Prince caught up on local events. Dante thought that he understood that they could feed at will, but not to cause too much of a rucous.

Again Shade led them on, they were putting their unlivelihoods in the hands of an odd man. Dante didn't like it, but there seemed little choice. As they neared a place bustling with people Shade started to give them instructions. I really wish that boy would speak up. They were supposed to watch out for something...but he couldn't make out the words that the boy whispered. "(En) We watch out for what??" Dante said in an annoyed tone of voice. "(It) Come on Liz, I'm hungry."

OOC: oh yeah...what kinda stuff should we be watching out for? maybe some kind of random encounter is in order :) *hint, hint* *nudge, nudge*

Daithi followed the rest of the night silently, trying to absorb his new surroundings. The prince seemed an amicable fellow, but Daithi still wasn't sure about the Shade person.

They arrived at the market and Shades voice was easily lost among the din of the crowd. Daithi shrugged, and noted just to be extra careful. He caught Wilhelm's eye, and nodded. They would stick together, if only for the fact that Wilhelm always seemed to get into trouble alone...

OOC: I'm taking Wilhelm with me, unless there is a problem. I don't expect Djeuve to be posting very much in the next two weeks, so just PM me if you had other plans for his character...in the meantime Wilhelm will just follow Daithi around silently.

OOC: What should you be looking for? Well...there are other things than vamps in the WoD...KnowwhatImean? KnowwhatImean?

IC: It was with a bit of relief that Anaïs watched Dante and Liz wander off. Shade really didn't have to worry about them. Surely they realized that there were other things that went bump in the night. Didn't they? Finding herself alone with Shade, she pulled him aside and got the story out of him.

What she put together was that (with her auspex) Liz was able to see Shade's true self. The self that tended to send other vamps (except the **** Malks) cowering in terror with screaming fits to puncture the mood. Not only himself, but his...companion. Personally, she couldn't see the companion or his true nature and wasn't worried about it. But it worried Shade.

"Don't worry. I don't think she's about to tell anyone. And they seem to be pretty trusting of me so far. I've told them you're all right, so we'll see where it goes from there. Besides, as much as you wander, you'll likely be long gone before she makes up her mind, no?"

With a smile, she agreed to meet up with him by the brass sow in front and meandered off into the marketplace to keep an eye on her companions...and perhaps to get a nip herself.

The market as always was alive with life. Vendors selling thier goods, oddity shops selling God knows what, and a little girl about 15 years old dancing for the crowd. She was rather good in fact.

(Anais, you know who she is, If you feal the need to add her to scene for a bet feal free, she is your character. As for the other one.)

Tell me, do any of you stop to watch the dance?

Edit: Oh yah, shade, you know them dont you!

OOC: Sic, love ya like a brother, but for the Lady's sake! SPELL-CHECK!!! As far as your wholesale steal of Laughing Moon...well...nothing I haven't done to you or the others in my games from time to time.

IC: Anaïs could smell the fae blood in the dancer and watched for a moment. The girl was of Indian descent, well-kempt, and lithesome. A pleasure to watch. However, there was another with the blood that fizzed and popped nearby and she could only assume the girl had a partner.

Keeping an eye out, she saw him. Almost mouse-like as he went after pockets and wallets and seemingly whatever tickled his fancy. An odd sort of burglar, really, but the fae never were known to be in their right minds. Good thing, she thought amusedly, that her cash was tucked up in her bra and away from his wandering fingers. Though she did have a few little odds and ends in her jeans that might interest him, and he was well and away welcome to them.

As the music ended, she joined in the applause and handed the girl an acquired fifty, pleased at watching the liquid-dark eyes widen in disbelief and pleasure. On the closer look this afforded, there was a small red key attached to the girl's belt of bells...almost like something an infant would play with. How odd...how odd indeed...

I was thinking of leaving her out but seriously, I cant put Cricket in without Laughing Moon. The two of them are such a team.

Actually, that probably would not stop him. Good thing he isn't after your cash. Besides the moss sells better anyway. (Have we confused you guys yet?)

OOC: yes...i'm very confused...

As are most vampires when they are in the presence of these sorts of supernatural creatures. They are confusing indeed.

Ok on with the story, Liz a short thing approches you, its a boy, sort of, he is about 4ft tall and couldnt be much over 100lbs, and looks to be about 14 years old. He could easily pass as a street urchin from Le Mis or Oliver Twist. He tugs on your hand. "HI! Your pretty! My names Cricket, whats yours?" He sticks out his hand with a bright smile on his face.

On further examination through your supernatural sences shows you that this boy, like shade, is not what he seems. His ragged bowler cap has two holes cut in it, your auspex sight shows you that through these holes two fuzzy mouse ears stick through. From behind him a long tail is visible and even his teeth seem more rodent like.

Hes just standing there, holding out his hand, waiting for you to shake it.

OOC: I have to apologize, I suddenly realized today with a start that I've been forgetting to put what language Shade speaks in... :eusa_doh: Unless otherwise noted, he speaks English. He does know French... kinda...

occ: Don't worry about it Korwin!! :)

ic: Liz smiled alittle unsure, Dante and Liz wandered off. Passing a girl dancing to the crowds...she was truly good at it, but they passed by with only a glance. Liz's thoughts were still on Shade, she had made up her mind. She had to talk to him, to find out what was going on, find out who he truly was, it would annoy her until she did find out. Her trust had been completely shaken even if there was hardly any in the first place, for Anais, she had shade was ok hadn't she? What if she ahdn't seen Shade's other side??

Shaking her head she followed Dante, she was extremely hungry. Something bumped into her, a small boy, but his age seemed to be that of 14. Somehow her auspex view took control and she found the boy to be almost rodent like...

another person with another side to them...thought Liz. He introduced himself with an outstreched hand.

'HI! Your pretty! My names Cricket, whats yours?' She looked around for Dante, finding him to be gone!! She took the little boys hand and shook it,

'My names Liz,' She let go of his hand and wondered what to do next...

occ: not sure where to go with this now, help someone.

It took a mere moment to find Liz. She was standing with the little pickpocket, and Dante was nowhere to be found. Dammit! Shade had told them to stay together. Shaking her head, Anaïs made her way to the teenager's side.

"There you are, hon! Let's get a bite to eat, hmm? Don't know about you, but I'm starved." With that, she took Liz's hand and set off to find some safer prey as well as Dante. Where had he gone?

Cricket followed along behind. "Um, miss? Uh if your looking for Shade, hes over here." He was tugging on Anais' arm. "He can't talk that loud, ya gots ta keep close to him." He gestures over in Shade's direction. "He blends in pretty good too, you gotta keep an eye on him. Your new here arnchya? You meet Jerry yet? You should meet big Jerry. Hes a nice guy! Hes one of your types." He then spots a magazine stand selling tabloids. "OOOH The new ones are out, see you later OK!"

IC: Shade went about his business as usual in the market. Public places weren't really a strong-suit of his. He did make his usual nods to anyone he recognized or knew. He stopped long enough to applaud the dancer, and catch Cricket's hand from stealing one of his knives from where it was tucked away. Made his usual greetings to the pair, and continue on.

He had managed to loose Anaïs in the crowd of people. He wasn't too keen on their eating habits... But he knew she at least could handle herself pretty well. The dangers here in the market were more on what they chose to feed on, as opposed to what decided to end their existance. He stopped suddenly. Come to think of it... he was kinda hungry too.

It didn't take Shade long to find someone to prey upon. Smallish younger punk kid about 16. Coming out of the bathroom, pockets full of some stuff he obtained via a 5-finger discount. Kid was definately mortal. Perfect. Leaning up against the wall as the kid walked past, Shade tripped him. The kid sprawled across the ground, got back up hurridly and took off at a run down the hall away from Shade. Shade just grinned to himself, and melted into the shadows where he stood. He stepped out of a dark alcove a bit ahead of the kid, and stopped him dead in his tracks. He grabbed the kid by his jacket, and threw him to the wall. Leaning close he whispered "You feel fear yet?" At the kids panic-stricken nod, and attempted response of a "F--- You! Man..." Shade replied "Good..." Holding him firmly with one hand, he placed his other on the kid's forhead, and drew the fear out of the kid like a syphon, filling the void left by it's departure with part of Shade's own mundanity. Consuming the fear of his prey, Shade empowered himself with it's creative visions of dread and terror. He then let the kid slump to the floor, the expression of fear replaced with one that resembled a deer caught in headlights. "Now to get some food." he whispered to himself, as he started down the hallway towards one of the small restaurants in the market.
