I don't know why I'm even reading this thread..............I f'ing can not STAND tuna.............the smell of it will make me sick. DH is only allowed to eat it when I'm going to be gone for a while so he has time the air the house out.
No name for these tuna balls, but along the same lines -
Instead of crackers, use crushed butter/garlic croutons. Sodium content of croutons is way better than crackers or commercial bread crumbs.
Then roll them tightly into 1 to 1.5 inch diameter balls, and pop them in the deep fryer for about 2 minutes each, a nice golden brown. I usually have to turn them over after about a minute.
Serve hot, with lemon juice, or a splash of buffalo hot sauce.
DH detests tuna casserole so when I have leftover mac and cheese used as a side dish I'll add a drained can or pouch of tuna to it, toss in some peas, maybe onions, french onion or bread crumbs on top and !viola! a small serving of tuna casserole without complaints from the DH. We also used to get Market Day frozen packets of Kraft mac and cheese (hey it was fundraising) that I could use at work for a quick fix.
Tuna burgers. Loved them as a kid. 2 cans mixed with cr of mushroom soup. Put on bun, butter tops and bake for 10 minutes. I'm disappointed I can't get my dh to try them.
