    A Ramble on Audit Fees

Like many, we don't like the way the audit fees are set up and wanted to wait until there was a central way to do it instead of pay each manufacturer. On the one hand, we realize that this situation was brought about by the pirates and, just like we pay extra at the store to cover shoplifter...

My Friday night Venue was bought by new owners

That is what always makes us dread when we hear someone was let go. While we want to move forward and can't take sides, we still don't want to appear callous toward the plight of those who worked with us and were the friends of our mutual patrons. Otherwise we become part of what the backlash...

My Friday night Venue was bought by new owners

We have had that over and over again due to small town drama and volatile owners. Every time the owner would fire a bartendress, there would be resentment and a boycott and we would have to build again. Most people would eventually filter back in but you still take the hit while that is...

OKJT is moving and so am I

So isn't the point that these companies have no problem with us spending our money with them different from the point that was brought up elsewhere that said it was illegal for them to export their product to the US?

    Hello...anybody out there?

I will have to leave that up to Joe to answer.

E-Butts Helping Bar Venue A Little Bit So Far, And.....

We had the first no-smoking night tonight. I knew it was coming but didn't know it was tonight until I drove through the sleet to the bar and saw people standing outside and thought that there couldn't have been a worse weather night for this to happen. There wasn't even one of those little...

    Hello...anybody out there?

I'm sure a Chihuahua would make any man feel inadequate in that dept. Even a neutered one. People are often worried about us having that combination of dogs but I always reassure them that the Chihuahua hasn't killed the Pit Bull yet.

    Hello...anybody out there?

I have a superstition. I don't like to post successes on the forum as I think it is "pride goeth before a fall" bad luck. Of course I know it is not rational but it is one of those human vs. Spock things. So I just post the failures and frustrations to give Pro something to feel superior...

The point is not that the track is licensed only for UK use--they admit that it is only licensed for UK use. The point is that the publisher got paid so what are the damages? I prefaced my post with, "Legalities aside."

Yet SBI and Sunfly, both UK producers, display trademarks on their opening screens. Do they not know their own law or are we misinterpreting it?

Directly from SBI President on Karaoke Downloads

You missed the point. You are stuck on the technicality and not on what the actual damages would be. If you paid for a track, as long as you weren't using several copies of it at once, what is the monetary loss to the publisher? Also, a track legally produced in the UK will have paid the...

Okay, so are we bashing SC and calling them illegal for importing their CDs on one thread yet accusing US manufacturers of making it up that there is a ban on imports on another?

Not to argue whether there is or isn't a license but what kind of damages would a publisher claim if the product had been paid for and they had been piad their royalties?

    Questions about the Arizona Suits

Those in the UK don't seem to have become aware of any changes in the export laws. The MPRS people said that perhaps I should consult American law if we have enacted some sort of ban over here. It is a bit confusing as it is the MPRS law that everyone is quoting. Guess I will try again with...

    Questions about the Arizona Suits

SBI America is still up. I emailed Selectatrack on the subject just as an experiment to see if they respond or what they say. Their website says that it operates under UK laws. SBIs says that due to territorial restrictions, not all of their titles may be available for US licensing.

    Questions about the Arizona Suits

Is there a link for reading the actual law? Unless Zoom's website needs updating, they still list some distributors in the US. Maybe they just can't be the distrubor themselves? But then where would that leave Selectatrack? They aren't posting any warnings about no longer being able to sell...

Hey, Do The Freebies Count For 1:1?

The asking for receipts is probably more related to keeping someone from saying they were legal all along when they just bought 2 Foundation sets or a large amount of discs in between being named and being audited. The rare free disc probably isn't going to worry anyone, expecially when you can...

You will do it. Boyfriend was grabbing for that e-cig at first but now I don't remember the last time I have even seen one around. Won't ask about those other drops.....
