ECW! ECW! ECW...?

As annoying as it is that Punk didn't wrestle, I do have to say that it was an awesome promo. It's nice to hear a guy presenting his own originality and being given the freedom to express himself creatively.

What annoys me about the main event is that it's leading to the same crappy booking that Smackdown is usually relegated to. They don't trust any one ECW star enough to give him a title program, so they're going to clump together all their biggest names in a crappy multi-man match for the title on an inter-promotional PPV. That's the Smackdown treatment to a T.

I like Punk's gimmick that's not a gimmick and certainly think he's got skills in anyway you need them to be a name guy in the biz. Did you see the video of the promo he cut on Raven [ame="http://www.thestompinggrounds.org/forums/showthread.php?t=22816"]i put in this thread?[/video] I love that thing.

And you are probably right ECW will probably only get one match at SummerSlam and it'll be a 4 way with Angle/RVD/Sabu/Show. Which isn't bad, but it would still be nice if they had more than that going on.

I didn't think the match was all that bad. It was a good "wrestling" match. Unlike the Big Show vs "insert smackdown wrestler here" matches, someone actually left the ground, and actual wrestling moves were being executed.

And as much as I love Sandman, I can't stand seeing the same **** guys wrestle every week. I understand they're trying to create a rivalry, but, jesus christ.

And these "ECW rules" matches are REALLY starting to piss me off. I understand the show is still in it's infancy, but they need to get their **** together. QUICK.

Yeah I don't like seeing only 8 guys doing the same things each week either.

I still think they need to reintroduce the secondary belts..........

And the whole extreme rulez **** is beyond retarded.

Yup it's really annoying that an organisation calls itself "EXTREME championship wrestling" and some matches have extreme rules and most don't. It was an ok show. Something to watch than nothing.

And regarding it only being on an hour...

ECW used to pack a ****load of stuff into an hour back when it came on at 1 in the morning. They had a **** commercial every 10 minutes, but you'd sit through them JUST to see what they'd do next. I know it's cliche and nostalgic, but I miss that. There's no tag titles, there's no TV title...in fact there's only a heavyweight title and anything else aired just seems to be filler material.

When I saw a new guy back when ECW first came on and was starting to catch momentum, I was like..."wow, that dude is cool" or like..."what a great character!" Like hell, even J.T. Smith. A black italian guy? haha.

Or when I first saw Too Cold Scorpio wrestle. I was like "JESUS!". And Sabu? Forget about it. I realize these guys weren't new, but they were new to me. And New Jack and Mustafa? Mustafa couldn't wrestle a lick. But I still watched, because I was enthralled with something different and entertaining.

I just can't get into the new characters. They're not interesting or complex. Mike Knox? The Vampire guy? What?

And yeah...I reiterate...this ECW rules **** is just above and beyond insulting.

I'm going to go on record as being the only person in the world who likes Mordecai's new gimmick. He's got good entrance music, a good valet, he's a sharp dresser, and his moves are nice and crisp. I thought I was going to hate the gimmick, but really? I think it's pretty good.

So ECW will get a match at SummerSlam, but who will be in it?

Tuesday night on ECW on Sci Fi, the No. 1 Contender to the ECW World Title will finally be determined. Kurt Angle, Sabu and Rob Van Dam will compete in a No. 1 Contender Triple Threat Ladder Match, with the winner going on to face Big Show for the ECW World Title at SummerSlam.

This past Tuesday, Angle and Sabu squared off in a No. 1 Contender Match, but it was interrupted by the shocking return of Van Dam. Back from his 30-day suspension, RVD attacked both men with a chair, rendering the match a No Contest. Many were surprised that he would attack long-time friend and partner Sabu, but apparently the quest for revenge and gold outweighs the alliance between the two Extremists.

Obviously, RVD is looking to regain the ECW World Title that he feels was stolen from him on July 4, and now he is one step closer to that opportunity. Of course, it’s an opportunity Angle and Sabu both covet as well, and now they may have the extra added motivation of paying RVD back for his actions.

Big Show said last Tuesday night that it doesn’t matter who the No. 1 Contender is, because he will “crush them like crackers for (his) soup.†On Tuesday night, three men will be one step away from becoming the proverbial fly in his SummerSlam soup.

What will be the outcome? Will Angle head to SummerSlam with a chance to become the second man to ever hold the WWE, WCW and ECW Championships? Will Van Dam get a chance to regain what he feels should still be his? Or will Sabu get the chance that he’s been denied of three weeks in a row? Find out Tuesday night at 10/9 CT when ECW on Sci Fi is live from Washington, D.C.

If I was them that is what I would do. Especially if they are only going to get one match, they might as well try to throw a bunch of guys in it.

The next ECW PPV will be titled "December to Dismember" and take place on December 3 at the August, GA Civic Center. ECW is expected to also be a part of the November Survivor Series PPV.

Ah well, there does any hopes of having a November to Remember.
