What's new

GEM Set #1 has arrived!

What's fun to remember is that SC has licensing agreements for the GEM series from overseas, per Kurt's own post. NONE in the U.S. ( Less hassle and expense per Kurt), which is why he got so persnickety when I asked if he would include their licensing documentation for the KJ, so the KJ would be covered. What he's making people go through all the rigamorole for is no more licensed in the U.S. than UK downloads.

As a matter of fact, a question comes to mind: Does anyone know if SC has a manufacturing facility overseas? If they do, then fine- like buying Zoom discs. If they don't, then are they downloading from overseas and manufacturing here?

Anyone?

If they are essentially importing for sale here, a product licensed overseas - are they also declaring and paying the tarriff?

Joe,

Don't know about the Gem Series but I have 3 Spotlights 9005, 9006 and 9015 that according to the discs' were produced in the UK.

Where it used to say Produced at Sound Source Recording Studios, it now says: Compiled and Produced by FSC-Mediaplas and gives a UK address and email address. They also have a MCPS logo on them (UK license agency?).

so its no wonder you must show discs to gain 1 to 1. Even if your copies arent even really legit in the USA not to mention 1 to 1 not being 100% to begin with. ITs becoming quite the travesty with the strong armed efforts to scare folks into buying the new discs. Wonder where those are originally produced to cover legitimacy for the providers? Cement boots are actually a light grey area shade of the Black and white color wheel. Shleptone is what I heard was the official color.
