TON, people were definitely asking about you on the other site. I'm impressed myself that you're able to donate so much. I can't get as many deals as you can, and have a bigger family to shop for, so that's not something I can see myself doing now. But maybe someday...
I know that "regular" members had some conversations about me on their public boards. I was more curious about what might have been said in the secret-mods-only-subforum.
Not just when I was banned, but a few other times I stirred the pot a little. A couple of threads got locked down, especially those when I talked about superstacking at CVS, or my shelf-clearing with 16 cards, etc. I also had a fairly large list of infractions, some of which got reversed, most I just respectfully disagreed with, and others I probably, okay clearly, deserved. But for the vast vast majority of my posts over there, I was very careful about abiding by their rules. As for why I got banned, their process was not clear at all, and I respectfully disagreed with the punishment. So I haven't posted in 5 months.
When I asked about being a mod over there for the Stop&Shop Forum, I wasn't that surprised that I got rejected. But I wonder about what kind of comments that might have generated.
I also wonder about any comments about them removing references to other sites, like here, even though their stated policy was to only allow copied posts that gave explicit credit to other sites when requested.
I am sure a few mods were jealous of me, but I don't think most cared that much. I know a few openly doubted my totals, accusing me of exaggerations, etc., but none of that bothered me. I am satisfied knowing I am among the very best at consistently beating the stores at their own games. I do it for both the entertainment as well as to help those who need it more than me. Some weeks I do way way better than others, but I don't care if someone else gets as good or even better deals than I did in a given week. Over time, since I spend way more time at this than most folks, and since I know how to maximize the deals, I will usually get more volume than anyone else. I don't say that it makes me a better person than everyone else, as I clearly have my own flaws (just ask DW!). But it can be fun, both being a hypocrite, and being able to point out the hypocrisy in others. There just happened to be a lot of them over there...
