So what are you thinking now? New thread!

The people I work with are having a Potluck. I decided to skip it because I don't need all those extra calories. So I had my oatmeal and apple slices for breakfast and now all their food smells soooo good.

Trying my best to get into better shape for vacation/summer

I am going to choke people. People need to grow up and learn to communicate. I am so tired of the BS around here. I am going to have to speak to someone here about the way they speak to people. Telling someone that they would know something if they had proper schooling is such bullshit.

If you read the other thread, you'll be glad you skipped it!!!

Yeah I just read that. I was really expecting her to say she found pubic hair in the food since we were discussing waxing. Lol

If you are a SAHM, DH works, Kids attend full day school, do you.....

--shovel?
--mow the grass?
--bring the garbage cans in?
--etc?

OR do you wait for DH to come home from work and he does that?

I shovel most of the time esp. during the week. If it's the weekends and lots of snow, DH gets out the snow blower. I bring the cans back to the house. DH brings the trash to the curb tho. Either DH or DS13 cuts that grass..............I don't "do" grass.

My DH doesn't get home from work until at least 7pm.

I shovel/plow unless it's the weekend. Then it's a toss up. Dh usually brings the cans to the street in the morning when he leaves and then I bring them back in. Someone else mows out grass cause it's the one thing that dh hates.

What's this all about Val? :bee:

I was out shoveling and I usually shovel the sidewalks up to our neighbors driveway (which is a large portion of their sidewalks) but today I said "Screw it, I'm shoveling just to our property line and they can do the rest." Neighbor lady is a SAHM, 2 kids in school all day and does NOTHING, NOTHING outside the walls of her house. Won't shovel, won't bring the empty cans in, won't get the mail, etc. Just find that strange, rude, lazy, so I was wondering if maybe it's more common than I think.

I shovel, mow, cans, etc and really enjoy doing it. THere are times when the kids aren't cooperating and I can't get it all finished but for the most part I at least make an effort to get it done.

I will shovel...he does, too.
I will cut the grass...he does, too. (I do it more than him though.)
Garbage is a man's job. :giggles: That includes removing it from the house, too.
I do a of the clothing/grocery shopping, all of the cooking (even grilling,) all of the housework, all of the homework, all of the driving kids to activities, etc. My DH works & helps out with those things infrequently. He'll do whatever I ask, but I do think those are my "jobs" because I don't work.

My primary reason for not working is because I can't handle working 40+ hours a week & doing all of the above. My family is not helpful with any of the above, DH included, and the last time I worked the division of labor was not equitable. If I worked again, I would have a cleaning lady & a lawn service FOR SURE.

Pretty much I do what I can to ensure that DH's time off is "time off" for him to spend with the kids, me, do whatever he wants. However, when I am incredibly busy April-July, we somewhat share outdoor duties because I am as busy as I would be if I worked.

There is no way in hell I would shovel the sidewalk of a SAHM, unless she had *very* young children & I liked her. Odds of me having a neighbor who meets that criteria are slim to none.

I used to shovel until we got a snow blower...the thing's too big for me to handle...I will broom off light snow, & sprinkle snow-melt if it's icy...I have never mowed a yard in my life...I will bring in the cans if I go out back...they sit by our garage so it's no big woo unless it's really windy & the empties get tossed into the county road...

Dh don't do hard labor!

We had a very old snowblower...25+ years old. It was a POS and one day in my frustration over getting it to start, I wheeled that POS to the curb & left it there for the scrappers. I will say that since doing that, I shovel more because of the guilt I have from getting rid of a snowblower because it pissed me off. I feel terrible if DH has to come home from work to shovel, so when it snows I reallllyyyyy try to keep up with it. If we had a snowblower that worked, I would use it without complaint.

DD5 is SUCH an AIRHEAD!!!!!! :gah:

I get weekly newsletters from her teacher, and today's said, "ask your child about word family -ap".
So I do, and I get, "Huh? Oh! Yeah! Um, I don't remember. Oh, like pap? or clam?"

:???: HUH????
