so what are you thinking right now?

You have the creative gene for sure. Still amazed by the play kitchen.

Do you handle the saw as well or does DH help with that?

I'd love to take credit for the play kitchen but that was valerie :-) (easy to confuse cause we both gots lots of kiddos, lol)
I've developed my creative gene as i got older, now i'm a sewer, cake decorator and party planner!

I was going to ask what a seam gauge is, but then I didn't want to get directed to justfuckinggoogleit.com. So I googled and I have one. hmm, I'm actually going to have to work on this now. My excuses are dwindling... Thanks a lot jschwemi! j/k :foryou:

hemming is really simple and dry cleaners charge like $7 and up. You can do it by hand, but it takes alot longer and isn't as secure as by machine. Just go slow and if you mess up get the seam ripper out!

for all you with sewing machines:
sewing machine + pinterest = awesomeness!

I need to get back to sewing. And quilting, and knitting, and crocheting. Man I need to get busy. I love to sew, just don't have a good place to do it at the moment. Nice thing about knitting, takes up less space.

Hoping these issues don't turn into bigger problems.....

DS14 hurt his Achilles at track practice today, is limping around
DH is having some serious testicle pain, causing him to drop F bombs
DD9 has been battling chronic hives and is going Monday for allergy testing.

Sigh.

No new Vampire Diaries today!! :gah: :( I'm so bummed!!

I'm half-watching Private Practice right now, seems like it could be an interesting show. But it's no vamp. d. :(

I need some hot bloodsuckers - I should have never lent my sister Breaking Dawn pt 1 lol guess I'll just watch the original Twilight instead <3

:bliss: :bliss: I'm finished I'm finished I'm finished!! :bliss: :bliss:

I used the machine and it only took like an hour start to finish. I also fixed a couple items that needed mending, but those didn't need to look perfect. I didn't break any threads or needles and there was no swearing.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Oh and Clars I would love to learn to quilt. I think it would be cool to make a quilted cover for my kitchen mixer which is always on the counter. someday....

Valerie, I hope everything is ok. Did your Dhs pain just start?

He had a vasectomy in December and the right hasn't felt back to normal. But today he started have horrible pain, visibly nothing but when palpating you can feel a large size difference. He took some Tylenol PM and will be calling the urologist in the morning.

Many prayers for you and your hubby :( This takes me back to March 09 when Pat was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer :(

I missed the play kitchen - can you post the picture again?

I too have a sewing maching...tho I taught myself. And usually when I teach myself things, I take the path of least resistance instead of the "correct" path. So, my skills are somewhat limited! Although, I've made curtains and valances with no problem. I need to learn how to do more things. I'll have to check out pinterest projects.
