Team Fortress 2 (Free To Play)

I got it in the Orange Box pack back when it was a paid for game and only played it for a little bit as I couldn't really get into it :/ I may give it another try soon though as I know it's meant to be pretty good.

Don't think my laptop likes downloads.. Tried to download Steam and it came up with a billion errors and turned its self off. Oops.

Restarted it a couple of times and it seems to work now though.

Fun games with Poontang, Vampenstine and Lauren tonight; now playing with Alan D who is just awesome. :D

BTW, we won that long match. ;P

I...really got tired of TF2 after a while. Specifically since I no longer have a mouse, and am restricted to a laptop touchpad. However, it got far less enjoyable when it went F2P because of the amount of microtransaction promotions that appeared. It's no different to a freemium MMO now; you can play it as a free user, but if you want to do really well, you have to either be VERY lucky with drops, or you have to pay real money.

Engineer was my favourite class though. Especially on capture the intelligence. Level 3 sentry in the intel room, gg

You can completely destroy everyone with the stock weapons. Anyone who contests this fact either has limiting beliefs or is **** at the game. I love TF2, but I suffer from a love/hate relationship with disorganized public servers, as I played competitively for the most part - Spy in 9v9 Highlander, Scout in 6v6 for utilities (Spy, Pyro and Sniper). I'd like to play more often but it barely run on my glorified typewriter of a computer.

I should've added that your mileage may vary. In general I found paid players performed a lot better than those who didn't. So for the most part I made sure to stick with bot servers >.> That, and the fact the community seemed to be awful. Just like any competitive game I guess.

If a person has more weapons than someone else, all it means is that they've been playing longer, and although that doesn't necessarily mean they're definitely better, the chances they are better having spent more time playing is pretty bloody high. Almost everything in the game, weapons-wise, can be earned through achievements, crafted, found or traded for. Hell, most people give away weapons they don't need. All them are variations on the stock weapons and situational, none are blatantly better and giving the fancy looking weapon to a new player will not enable them to do as well as the experienced player with the exact same weapon because they honestly won't know how to use the thing properly anyway.

I found TF2's community overall to be of a more lighthearted nature than most others, but I kept to smaller community servers outside of the competitive scene.

A good game, used to play it a lot on my laptop until for some reason my laptop just decided to give up so the game would be choppy and lag too much for me to enjoy the game, a shame because I would probably still be playing it now.
