She has access to birth control. She can go to Target or Walmart and get the pill for $9/month without insurance. The $3,000 cost over 3 years is an absurd exaggeration intended to generate sympathy. As for birth control for other medical conditions - that is a complete red herring intended to distract from the issue at hand. First of all, the Obama folks covered contraception for free for CONTRACEPTION - not for other medical conditions. Second, why on earth should these other medical conditions be covered for free when someone else's asthma inhaler isn't (or hundreds of other examples).
Did you read the transcripts of her testimony? It isn't about anyone paying for birth control, it was about access to birth control, in point when hormonal birth control is prescribed to treat other medical conditions. She is not asking for the government to give her free condoms or saying she has tons of sex.
