Re: The big fat idiot is at it again, but calling him an idiot is insulting to idiots

Did you read the transcripts of her testimony? It isn't about anyone paying for birth control, it was about access to birth control, in point when hormonal birth control is prescribed to treat other medical conditions. She is not asking for the government to give her free condoms or saying she has tons of sex.

She has access to birth control. She can go to Target or Walmart and get the pill for $9/month without insurance. The $3,000 cost over 3 years is an absurd exaggeration intended to generate sympathy. As for birth control for other medical conditions - that is a complete red herring intended to distract from the issue at hand. First of all, the Obama folks covered contraception for free for CONTRACEPTION - not for other medical conditions. Second, why on earth should these other medical conditions be covered for free when someone else's asthma inhaler isn't (or hundreds of other examples).

Not all the birth control pills that are used are on the $9 list. Not every woman can take the same dosage of hormones. Nobody has asked for it to be covered for free, just that it be part of the health insurance coverage because some forms of the pill can be expensive.

You can call the pill for other medical conditions a red herring, but the fact is that hormonal birth control is used to treat other conditions, not just to prevent pregnancies. This is a fact. My DH is getting a vasectomy and my OB/GYN said that he still wants me to stay on the pill for a few more years for the hormone benefits, not for avoiding pregnancy.

Then we should have a lot more threads here about all the musicians that do the same. Oh wait, there's only a limited area of ideas some folks here get outraged about.

And as a rule, I don't let my body parts decide what I'm outraged about. This is just more theater by Rush. I'm sure this will shock some of you, but I'm not a fan.

Why yes, yes we should because I don't think it's OK for ANYONE to do it. Musician, politician, pill popping radio talk show host, the guy down the street, your father, brother, uncle, husband, nephew, your momma, her momma, your sister, her sister in law, no one. Did I cover it all? I'm sorry, but as a woman if you aren't outraged at flagrant disrespect of other women, you condone it.

Silence is acceptance. If people who agree with Rush's position cried fowl on his potty mouth and disrespect THAT would speak volumes.

What? BHO is asking (well, not asking - decreeing) that it be free. So is Nancy Pelosi and the Fluke lady and and and.... Have you not been paying attention?

Fine, stay on the pill and pay co-pay like everyone else's medicine. And I believe Georgetown's policy includes birth control pills used for non-contraception purposes. Like I said, red herring.

I'm happy you're smart enough to recognize it as theater, but that doesn't excuse what he said. Sadly, some (most?) of his audience isn't all that interested in facts--they prefer to be appalled on a regular basis. It's a twisted form of political porn that they just can't get enough of.

I like porn. :9:

Obama and the liberals are 10x more thrilled than Rush listeners over this. They get to turn the debate into Rush vs. a factual discussion of the real issues which they were losing before it got turned into Rush and republicans trying to outlaw contraception and other nonsense.

Pay attention. :tap: Porn is acceptable. Having views that are conservative is not. Sheesh, follow along.

Exactly! They're quite good at creating theater of their own. Pretty much the reason the prez is holding a news conference today. Attention ****s. (oops am I supposed to apologize to someone for using that word)

They have not been saying to needs to be free. The issue is whether insurance will cover it because not all insurance plans cover contraception even when prescribed for reasons other than contraception.

I don't see why that's such a problem for the racist right--wouldn't contraception prevent unwanted brown babies? Aren't the illegals and welfare recipients the bane of the racist right's existence? The reason for high unemployment, health care and crime rates? Isn't this one of Rush's main talking points? Thank God **** don't need birth control--think of that **** of a topic........

I plan to and will pay the co-pay just like I always do because unlike women who go to Georgetown, I don't have to jump through hoops to justify why I need to take the pill, that is between me and my doctor. I am glad that I don't have to be questioned as to why my doctor prescribed me a medication by someone at my insurance company.

OK, I was being sarcastic but I guess in fact you haven't been paying attention. Direct from the HHS site:
A statement by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius

In August 2011, the Department of Health and Human Services issued an interim final rule that will require most health insurance plans to cover preventive services for women including recommended contraceptive services without charging a co-pay, co-insurance or a deductible.

First, the right isn't racist. BTW, It was democrats who blocked civil rights laws back in the 60's.

As for the rest that I realize you didn't really mean to be discussed intelligently but I will anyway - it is ironic that the left is in such favor of aborting babies that are more likely to be dem voters. The founder of planned parenthood was very upfront about her disgusting views on eugenics and reducing the number of babies that she viewed to be undesirable because of their race, etc.

First, everyone was racist in the 60's....second, I was qualifying those on the right that are racist, not all (most?)....BTW, I am by no means a democrat.
