The Science Of Sexual Orientation

If that is the case why does it seem that you can't respect what we believe?

Now I know I am probably going to get heat for posting this, But what the hell I am so tired of the wining, why can't you respect this and that... when in turn it's the same thing on the "other side" ! I feel we also don't get respect, but do you see me constantly going... well you don't respect my views, you don't respect my beliefs, your trying to shoved them down my throat.
I don't think I am doing that... I might be wrong tho!

Fear of height is a MENTAL thing, not a GENETIC thing. I guess you are agreeing with me then when you make that comparison: homosexuality, is a MENTAL thing, not GENETIC, subject to change. Subject to "overcoming" it.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Nova, but all infants develop a fear of heights at the same time that they begin to crawl. All babies are born with what is termed a Moro reflex (startle reflex) which in lay terms is a fear of falling. This generally disappears between 3-6 months.

I am just going to have to bring you up for the summer so you can spend some time with some gay people. (Don't worry you are safe with me! LOL) Perhaps you need to discuss in person what makes one tick.

I agree that women or men who have been abused at one point in their lives by members of the opposite sex have caused "straight" people to experiment with homosexuality and that perhaps that is all that you have been exposed to so it is difficult to imagine that the possibility even exists that someone can be born gay, however, I am afraid that I do not agree.

So I will see you this week-end. It is my birthday on the 13th so we can get Venus and BB to take us to Triangles - a gay bar downtown. Might meet a couple of Easter Bunnies there, who knows! Second thought I wouldn't want them getting too close to your "Easter" basket.;)

Maybe we can just meet them for coffee! You haven't had coffee until you have had Tim Horton's! Going for some now, myself!

I only respect peoples views when they respect mine, since you never respected mine I shown no respect for yours. Simple, Simple, Simple.

I feel the same way you do, so cry me a river......

After she is finished crying you a river do you think it would be possible to build a bridge between you two so you may be able to meet mid stream?

It's pointless, a tidal wave will just come along and destroy the bridge.

Everyone get off the bridge incoming tidal wave!!

Now back to the topic again please...

The Science of Sexual Orientation.....the debate continues

So if you are born left-handed, why can't you be born gay??? I still don't understand....if it mental (the brain), then that means you are probably born with a tendency, don't you think?!?!
So why couldn't the same be said for being born gay?

I agree with you, BB. Some people are most definitely born gay. Some are not. Some experiment. For some reason I believe women probably experiment more than men.
Canadian researchers have consistently documented a "big-brother effect," finding that the chances of a boy being gay increase with each additional older brother he has... So, a male with three older brothers is three times more likely to be gay than one with no older brothers, though there's still a better than 90 percent chance he will be straight.

That means I am twice as likely to be a sissy! That's OK cause I like Tom-boys too! HA!HA!

I found the answer...we can end this debate!!

Two farmers, Jim and Bob, are sitting at their favorite bar, drinking beer.
Jim turns to Bob and says, “You know, I’m tired of going through life without an education. Tomorrow I think I’ll go to the community college and sign up for some classes.â€
Bob thinks it’s a good idea, and the two leave.
The next day Jim goes down to the college and meets the dean of admissions, who signs him up for the four basic classes: Math, English, History, and Logic.
“Logic?†Jim says. “What’s that?â€
The dean says, “I’ll show you. Do you own a weedeater?â€
“Yeah.â€
“Then logically because you own a weedeater, I think that you would have a yard.â€
“That’s true, I do have a yard.â€
“I’m not done,†the dean says. “Because you have a yard, I think logically that you would have a house.â€
“Yes, I do have a house.â€
“And because you have a house, I think that you might logically have a family.â€
“I have a family.â€
“I’m not done yet. Because you have a family, then logically you must have a wife.â€
“Yes, I do have a wife.â€
“And because you have a wife, then logically you must be a heterosexual.â€
“I am a heterosexual. That’s amazing, you were able to find out all of that because I have a weedeater.â€
Excited to take the class now, Jim shakes the dean’s hand and leaves to go meet Bob at the bar. He tells Bob about his classes, how he is signed up for math, English, history, and logic.
“Logic?†Bob says, “What’s that?â€
Jim says, “I’llow you. Do you have a weedeater?â€
“No.â€
“Then you’re gay.†:p

Good God, I am gay!! I wouldn't know how to turn on a weed whacker let alone operate one!
Help me out here Nova! Do you have a weed eater?
