Welcome back to returning or new members

Hi Athena; I'm following your suggestion, and hope to spend some happy time here. I note that there is no "ignore" button here, so I'll follow your "report" suggestion as well. Between the two of us, at least, we can certainly debate current issues civilly. However, I will politely back...

Chartbuster teams with JoltSoft for Karaoke Anywhere

Something like the Dopi site- also meant for the end user. The question is, are there any safeguards in place- or even possible- to keep KJs from using the service? If not, this will be just another producer of hack KJs to deal with.... PLEASE NOTE: This is not a judgement of the...

    Leader of the band

OOps, my apologies to Danny. I confused the Legends and PS versions. NOTHING wipes out that blaring input on the PS performance version. What I do is use the guide track version - which doesn't blare in- and use VCM to wipe out the vocals.

    Leader of the band

BTW Danny, a suggestion, and I'm not being a wiseguy- I've made this error myself: Did you make sure you weren't on the vocal demo side of the disc? Also, if you didn't do it already, try engaging the VCM when using that track.... ---------- Post added at 02:46 AM ---------- Previous post...

I have to tell you that this thread is spooking me out a little. I woke up thinking about this song this morning! Thinking of giving it a try... WHile I personally like the Pocket Songs PS1378 version, I also have the Legends LG229 version, which may be more to your liking. I often...

KIAA relaunching. - video of presentation at Mobile Beat DJ show in Vegas

See, this gives me the giggles, because SC isn't recognizing their own downloads- so they took the money for them, and now want KJs to buy the discs to match the tracks....class..... I have to tell you- normally, I try to stay PC, and keep the ick to myself. However, Anyone who pays a...

My Friday night Venue was bought by new owners

In almost every business, a new owner will evenually replace the old staff. You must have made a helluva impression! In my experience, as soon as people get used to the new faces - as long as they are good at what they do - the patrons will start returning in force. It would be helpful...

    The Derailed Thread

Directly from SBI President on Karaoke Downloads If U.S. mfrs. can't be forced to pay the artists, except through suits, what would make you think that the overseas mfrs.- out of U.S. jurisdiction- are paying? Also, how much harder would it be for a U.S. artist to sue and overseas mfr.- again...

GEM series gets some competition from Charbuster...

While I've heard that CB was considering this, the actual release is new to me as well. I'm hoping that the use of the cards might also be a sign that they found a way to copyright protect ( software-wise) the media. I'm just too much of a Luddite to figure out how they would do that if the...

    The Derailed Thread

Directly from SBI President on Karaoke Downloads The rest of the stuff is ping pong, but the above is actually a gimme. I'll re-state: SC can no longer bring their discs in from overseas. They aren't allowed to make them here, so no new releases- no U.S. licensing. If and when...

    The Derailed Thread

Directly from SBI President on Karaoke Downloads 1) Really? I rarely bring comprehennsion up, except with you and Mantis these days. No one else seems to have a problem. Even Thunder comprehended- though ignored... 2) Nope- NOT licensed in the U.S.- and how do you know who has...

To CB, From The Derailed Thread

Actually, I know all that, and agree, but I appreciate the time you spent to post. By "Authorize", I merely meant what would be entailed in regard to a specific manufacturer's ( in this case CB) accepting usage- whether legally binding or not. In other words, what would cause CB's particular...

    The Derailed Thread

Directly from SBI President on Karaoke Downloads 1) It doesn't, and it was out of context. 2) The Gem series is unlicensed in the U.S., and therefore open to litigation. I'm don't know why this is hard for you, but most understand that lack of licensing is a bad thing...

I wish there was a "triple thanks" button for that post, Pro. A very clear explaination of the difference between the different types of licensing. Also, because of all that it entails, one could be fairly sure we will NOT be seeing UK style licensing here in the U.S. any time soon.
