It was more common to go out on dates first when I was in highschool. Although there wasn't much dating till you hit 16, when you got a car and most people had no curfews at 16 so even if you played sports you just went out later at night.

But after a few dates and things went good and you got to the point of girlfriend/boyfriend then you started hanging out in the groups together on the weekend, but you almost always had to take the girl out a few times before you got to that point.

nope -- I had a small circle of friends, but we didn't really socialize with girls -- we mostly played sports after school -- at someone's house.

I was terribly shy and had a lot of difficulting talking to girls. I would never be able to think of anything to say to them.

I was never invited to any parties. Seriously - I was beyond lame in high school LOL
