ECW! ECW! ECW...?

He's not held the real ECW title.... only the phony WWE version. Big show's claim to the ECW Championship is about as legitimate as if I ordered one of those belts online, and proclaimed myself "ECW World's Heavyweight Champion."

the champ is here!!!!

Wondering why not Kurt instead of the Big Show?

Kurt Angle is currently taking time off due to personal reasons. Although, he is currently serving a suspension as well. Angle is on a 30 day suspension. The reason for his suspension has yet to be disclosed. Considering that Rob Van Dam is serving a 30 day suspension of his own, the reason Kurt Angle didn't suddenly come back when he's really needed was because he is "officially suspended."

How about this?

TO ALL ECW FANS:
I TAKE IT UPON MYSELF TO APOLOGIZE FOR WHAT HAPPENED THIS WEEK.
I CANNOT TRULY EXPRESS MY FEELINGS.
I AM ANGRY, PISSED OFF AND TOTALLY FRUSTRATED ABOUT WHAT I HAVE BEEN SEEING IN ECW.
I NEED TO SIT BACK AND DIGEST ALL OF THIS.

IF I WRITE ABOUT WHAT IS IN MY HEAD, MY COLUMN WILL PROBABLY NO LONGER EXIST.

SORRY.

It'll be interesting to see how guys like Tommy and Joey continue to react to how ECW is going to be now. I think some of those guys bought into the hype as much as some of the fans did.

But Vince didn't want their ECW then and with him in control of the show now and not Paul it will be much more a WWE show than it even was before.

Part of that you can blame on the RVD situation because the change might not have been as quick if he was still around to headline the show. But I have it believe that a lot of the silly **** and Show being champ was going to happen no matter what.

I still bet none of them will be "disqusted" enough to turn down one of Vince's paychecks. At the end of ECW Heyman owed Dreamer more money than anyone else on the payroll if my memory is correct. Even RVD had basically quit the company a month or so before the end because he hadn't recieved a paycheck in months. Vince has been pulling Dreamer's strings for years, theres little reason to believe that Dreamer suddenly has some sort of new found dignity. Everyone involved in this "re-birth" are just as guilty of digging ECW's corpse up and kicking it around for a few extra dollars as McMahon is.

I'm not really sure what to make of what Dreamer said. You're definitely right, Jaime, in the sense that none of these guys are going to be offended to the point of giving back Vince's money, but Eison's also right about the fact that some of these guys had to expect something better than this garbage. ECW was about nothing but pride on the fans' part and, arguably, on the wrestlers' part. It has to be killing certain guys to see what it's become, even if they'll make no concerted effort to stop the spiral.

I can't say that it's "satisfying" for me to know that the true ECW guys hate what they're doing, because they're still the ones going out and disgracing the company name by putting on these crap performances, but it...eh..."helps," I guess, to know that these guys haven't completely lost their passion for what ECW is supposed to be all about.

I think about the only one I could see quitting over this is Joey Styles. He went a long time without taking VKM's cash and made according to him, a nice go of it in the real world more or less. So I could see him getting tired of it and being jerked around and eventually calling it a career.

I sorta wish he would, and not because I'm concerned about his pride or anything like that.

Frankly, I want him gone because...

HE SUCKS!

He and Tazz have been awful. They're like two Michael Cole's now, and if there's a more damning statement to be made about wrestling announcers, I haven't heard it.

I agree I thought he was making some strides on RAW before he got the boot but that both he and Tazz have been piss poor on ECW.

Styles was never that great live. Everything that he spoke on the old ECW tv shows was added in post production, had probably been pre-written, tweaked and then recorded in various takes to get the best version. His live commentary at the ECW PPVS wasn't much better than what he's doing now except that he had better stuff to call, which led to him actually being able to fake his excitement at times.

Taz should not be allowed near a microphone. Period.

They should've hired Gertner.

Word on the street is Tazz is in ECW because he and Cole had a "real life" falling out and they needed to be split up as an on-air duo because things are pretty bad between them at the moment.

Maybe if ECW tanks and doesn't get renewed Tazz can go to RAW and they'll finally fire Lawler for good.

This would be a good time to post a link to the infamous Michael Cole radio call, if I had any idea of if it's still on the web anywhere! :D
