Let's continue to get to know our fellow CWer's............

I'm a full time mom. Part of my job as SAHM includes coaching DH as he encounters issues in his work day. I have a strong technology background (always been part geek, comes from my Dad. I worked in the computer lab as my on campus job doing help desk and was always the "I need computer help" go-to person at work) and DH is in IT. So I kind of mentor him because he's so nerdy and non-confrontational, but he's in management so sometimes stuff comes up and he doesn't know how to handle it. So I always look at his job as a team effort, because he would be totally lost on some stuff like budgeting and interpersonal conflicts if it weren't for my advice.

Before the mommy gig, I was a SAHW (zzzz) and before that I was a Office Manager. Before that, I worked full time in offices but also worked part time as a certified massage therapist. I sold off my practice and have been retired from that for about 7 years now (holy crap, I'm old!). My undergrad is in Secondary Education/Home Economics with a minor in counseling (proof that the therapists really ARE the most screwed up in the head ones!). After undergrad, I studied at the Chicago School of Massage Therapy when I decided that I hated school and teaching really wasn't for me. I'm currently researching schools to pursue my M. Div, and I'm greatly looking forward to being a pink haired and pierced lady pastor with the UCC. :)

Oh, and in my spare time I coupon shop, although anyone could easily make a full time job of that. LOL!

Barb, it's never too late. I'll be 40 by the time I start seminary, and I'll probably be one of the youngest folks there. I know some people who didn't find their path until much later.

And NoHio, if I ever hear you call yourself a "nothing" again I will yell. Young lady, you are not a nothing. You are just seeking out your something, and that's hard work. Please don't disrespect yourself like that!

Wait for it...

...wait for it...

I am in purchasing. I buy **** all day. My job is to get it for the best price. :giggles:

My company builds very large custom made machinery for customers like... Boeing, Caterpillar, John Deer, Lockheed, etc... Are largest customer is Boeing. Our machinery makes the floor beams for the planes.
With the ****ty economy and no banks lending... Capital Equipment just isn't being purchased right now. We are very slow.

Maybe I will go back to Aldi then, or not lol I am just thankful that I am BLESSED to enjoy my childrens life the good bad and ugly everyday.

Right now, I'm a nothing. I'm hoping to get a job at a grocery store again (cashier or customer service) after our trip to Mongolia.

YOU have the singularly most important job in the world dont you? RAISING KIDS?!!?! youare NOT a NOTHING:hurt:

then she is an AUNTIE!! and a wife right!?! still important jobs!! anyone who has to be support services to a husband or SO KNOWS its not an easy job!

What ever do you mean? Sweetest & easiest creatures God ever gave breath to. Insert sarcasm here.

Although mine was pretty sweet last night when I wasn't feeling well. He left work early to pick up the little guy, fed him, gave him a bath... Even cooked for the puppies and did the dishes! Very sweet!

You used to sell books on eBay, didn't you? (I may be getting people confused here) I always found that to be really interesting.

I learned something wonderful from a man who was selling books out of his garage. He was missing part of his leg and one of his arms from the elbow, wore incredibly thick glasses. He was one of the most joyful people I had ever met. Someone like that could just curl up and have a pity party, but he didn't. He and his wife liked to read a lot, so he turned it into a business. Not sure how much he made at it, but he was a really neat guy. We spent an hour just chatting with him. I need to go back this summer and see if he is still going.

Sorry to go off topic there.

Hello! I am first a wife and mother to three great kids DD16, DS12 and DS6. I am then an Administrative Assistant at an Engineering firm. I work an hour away from my house and am gone over 11 hours a day which SUCKS! I try to fit couponing in when I can, trying not to piss off the hubby who does all the driving of the kids around since he is home at 430pm. I don't get home till 6-615pm without stopping anywhere. Don't get me wrong he totally supports my couponing just would rather me home if we could afford it.

I was fortunate enough to stay home for approx. 3 1/2 yrs when my youngest was born. I watched children out of our home to still bring in some income. I really wish I would not have given that up for this corporate BS! Someday I will have a job closer to my home that I enjoy! <--- Staying positive!

Thank you everyone for sharing your info with us!

ok i am soooooooooooo striking out on the AMP her up thing here!

Kinda :giggles:

But the point is, nobody is a nothing!

NoHio needs to go read "Horton Hears a Who" to Penelope, and I mean REALLY read it.

"Don't give up! I believe in you all.
A person's a person, no matter how small!"

Aw, you're quoting Dr. Seuss.

I am a nurse - I work part so I can work my other part time jobs- "deals". Mom of 2 - 12 and 13. Married for 15 years!

I am an AR Supervisor/QA Analyst for a multi-billion dollar Medical Billing Company that has offices throughout the whole USA as well as an investment company in Japan.

I am also a mother of 3, DS13, DS2, & DD1. Married for 4 years to the best guy in the world and love the hectic life style we lead.

My Husband was laid off from the union from November of 2008 until April 2010 when he finally obtained a job for a non-union company. Less money, but at least it is a job!

When that happened, that is when I turned to couponing to make sure my children had food on the table, clothes on their backs, and the care that need. Now, I am hooked to this and can not stop stockpiling that my husband is turning my laundry room into a stock room for me! LOL

It is so nice to meet all of you fellow couponers!
