So for my 18th birthday my parents have bought my boyfriend and I tickets to Paris! How cool is that? Anyway, I was wondering if any of you confabitches have been to Paris before and if you have any tips about there or any tips about travelling in general? I do get quite paranoid so any safety tips are encouraged haha!

Paris for me means bad memories, but the city itself is impressive. I suggest you have a look around some guides as to find activities/places that would potentially interest both of you.

One thing I can suggest you though, is visiting Viry Ch?tillon (I was born there). I was able to revisit last April and I was in awe with the houses, the hippodrome and the lifestyle... *.* (high way of life)

A holiday with your boyfriend in the city of romance, eh? ;)

I've never been to Paris, but have a great time.

Thank you! I'll try my best haha :)

I have no idea about anything about Paris. I'm so jealous, you have the best parents ever.

Haha they have there moments but yeah this is so amazing. Totally unexpected.

Ooh thanks for the link. Why bad memories? You didn't get mugged or anything did you aah! And Viry Ch?tillon is a bit far out to be honest. Sounds very nice though, I just want to stay deep in Paris for the 4 days I'm there :) The Eiffel Tower might not be open till the day after we go home or something... Sad times.

A trip to Paris that is SOOO cool. As with any trip, take steps to keep your valuables safe. I was in Paris a few moths ago. Be aware of pickpockets and people approaching you holding note pads and asking for signatures then asking you for donations.

Another trick they use is to drop a ring on the ground then say you dropped it and insist you keep it. then run after you asking for a reward for finding it for you. The ring looks good but is just bling of course.

If you have a bag keep it ACROSS your body so it cannot be snatched, if you have a backpack, keep your purse at the bottom NOT just on top. and have your BF keep his wallet in FRONT near his other "valuables" not in his back pocket. I always spread my money around on my body, so I do not lose the lot if anything happens.

A money holder UNDER your clothes is a smart move. Just take precautions and be aware and have a GREAT time.

If you buy any fruit etc do NOT handle it as this is frowned upon.

So enjoy and have lots of OOO la la.

If it involves along flight take a spare set of cloths on the plane with you. it can happen that you arrive safely in France and your baggage arrives safely in Baghdad!!

Oh no, I said bad memories because I lived some bad things there with family. Just a rant basically. But unlike most people, Paris doesn't rhyme with magic >.>
Although it has a very smart organization in terms of buildings etc :3 i'm sure you'll love it.

I am so jealous! What a great birthday present! Happy Birthday, by the way! :) I'm sure you'll love it and have a great time! My advice is to travel light in public and don't carry a bag or a wallet. All of my stuff stays on my person in my front and side pockets.

Have fun there, Tommy. :o

I'm sure I will :3

No long flight for us, I live in London so Paris is my neighbour haha. Closer than a lot of the UK really, kind of glad for that. I hate long journeys and I think we only have a 2 hour train ride or so :)

Thanks for all your tips! Yeah pickpockets are something I've been worried about a lot... Think I'll be fine though, I'm always paranoid about my surroundings.

I won't carry my bag around. Maybe a wallet but of course in my front pocket.

Just to get you looking forward to your trip!

Thanks but really I'm already as excited as I can be ;D

Um I've been to Disneyland Paris :p One issue you may have is that some French hate speaking English and it's also the pickpocketing capital, but as long as you take a neck wallet or something to put your valuables in you should be fine. Don't let it worry you too much though and have fun! :)

Hey friend Whenever you go to Paris take a day to visit the city of Chartres , a very lovely city for new vsitor. Saint-Louis Island is also a attractive place for tourist..
