Not meant to be then. When we were house hunting, we walked through some great houses (on the outside) but then the layout wasn't something we could work with (even though it was all updated).

The house we bought has great bones...........it needs updating, but the space and flow is great and we're all happy here so it's good.

Joy I hope you find a great place because I'm sure you're ready to leave the riverfront. :)

You said it! :dance::dance:

At least mistah is finally willing to consider it...that makes me happy :) I am not going to move just to get out of here so it has to be something that feels right. and that did not! the kitchen was downstairs and it felt like you were in a church basement kitchen  The wallpaper in the dining room was HIDEOUS....

This is the kitchen

OK...if this wallpaper is hanging in your house I apologize in advance for saying it's hideous :)

Here's a close up of it

Joy it looks like one of the houses you'd see on Property Brothers - you know, before they gut it and make it look gorgeous.

We used to have one of those long light boxes in the dining room. Oh how I hated that light.

we have that now in our kitchen and I HATE it!! Just bought a new ceiling fan at HD with the 100/50 q and hubby is gonna rip the box out, put in ceiling fan and recessed lighting. Woot!!

Joy it's all fugly and what's with that big pole thing in the middle of the diningroom? Looks like it's in a basement.

Yes the dining room is also in the basement. basically that beam is in the middle of the room, kitchen to the right "dining room" to the left. Straight ahead is a door that goes to the garage. On the other side of the room you go towards the family room, there is a half bath on the left (hell no do I want a bathroom that close to the kitchen!) and then the family room with the fireplace is straight ahead.

On the opposite wall from the fire place are two sets of shutter doors. One hides the washer and dryer and the other has the furnace and hot water heater. ummmm...no...

Can you picture trying to relax and watch TV or drink some wine by the fire with the dryer running and the furnace blowing? :surrender:

Too weird for color TV :)

The upstairs has a long skinny "formal" living room, a bathroom and 4 bedrooms. It's the weirdest **** house LOL No one but me ever used our formal living room in the old house. So if all we are doing is going upstairs to sleep, and basically just using the lower half of the house, what's the point of moving to a bigger house?

 that totally does look like a church basement kitchen!

And that wallpaper... 1982 flashback! Keep looking; you will find the right place at the right time. When is your lease up?

****, this reminds me, I never did digitize the pics of the wallpaper that was in the old house when we moved in there. It was ugly, and some of it was peeling. We thought since it was peeling, it would be easy to remove. We were so wrong....

Well I was mad at the time, but now I'm happy about it. When we moved here the landlord kept saying "oh we'll sign the lease when you move in". So here we come on moving day with the truck full of our lives and these cocomoes show up with a month to month lease. :tap: I was livid. But now I'm thrilled that my arse can pull up stakes with 30 days notice whenever I please :)

In my garage "office." It's really a card table with my miter saw set up on it & an old chair. :) With my iphone, I will never be bored anywhere. :bliss:
