Yes please! I've been thinking about you all morning. IMO I would also take my son and hide out at a motel/ hotel for a few days so he can settle down. Put it on a CC if you don't have the $.............it's worth your lives.
Or at least go stay w/some relatives...just don't let him know WHERE you're going and make sure he isn't following you! Praying for you.
Does anyone know what town missy lives in? Mebbe someone can let her and her DS hang out with them for a couple days where her DH can't find them (as a last resort I mean)? I just really have a bad vibe about this whole situation and I would rather be too cautious.
Yeah, but he'll know who and where they are. I remember when I was a kid at a babysitter's house, her sister was there hiding from her DH and he found her there and things got ugly. I remember hiding in a corner with the lights off wondering wth was going on.

This is true but actually he could FIND HER ANYWHERE! Do you watch Private Practice at all? Violet was hiding that lady from her husband and he came there and attacked them both...and then the lady killed the husband....not cool either way!
She lives on a farm. I know that isn't an excuse but getting someone to handle your livestock while you do a hideout is not always easy. It's also not always best to set the precedent of being able to be run off your home because someone else is being an idiot. Sometimes, better to stand your ground. That is just my IMHO and what I did with my nephew's dad back in the day, but I can't tell anyone what to do. :hug:

If he attempted to kill himself, he may not have a problem with a murder/suicide. I'd be out of there as fast as I could. You never know what someone with a mental illness is capable of. A OP means little to nothing...
I just want to reiterate that an Order of Protection is actually a very powerful legal document. If the terms are violated, the person doing the violating will be arrested. If they act like a crazy / suicidal person in front of the police, they will be involuntaried to mental health care on a 3-day intake.
It's not always possible to hide in these situations. The stress and possible danger of both options has to be weighed in the context of one's intimately personal situation.
I will say IF I myself decided to leave my home and / or hide, I would do it at a women's shelter and not try to do it on my own. Those people know what they are doing and they have good security.

That's really good advice. Yeah I forgot she lives on a farm. Maybe at the very least she could tend to the animals and then go sleep somewhere else.
missy....PLEASE, go get an order of protection. You need a restraining order. It is not too late in the day to get an emergency temporary restraining order. It will be a LOOOONG weekend if you don't. You can't count on calling the cops and having them take him away. It is technically his house too and he has to meet behavioral thresholds before they would cart him away. He could post bail and be back out the next day. Been there, done that.
PLEASE get an RO today!! Yes, its true people walk through that piece of paper all the time, but it is a start and it gets the cops out there and him off your property with no discussion. You can't leave your safety in the fate of some cop who may or may not decide he's behaving in a threatening manner by "quietly" stalking you from his car.

Sorry to be off for a while. Yes I live on a farm and that makes it very hard to walk away. There are chores to be done and animals that need care. I am near Springfield.
I am taking steps to protect myself the best I can. I have spoken to someone and gotten very good advice about this situation. The cut off for OP in my county was 10:30 each day I did not know that. I have made the local offices aware of the situation and they are there if I need them.

I'm already worried but please check in often.
You know my feelings about this whole situation and please continue to stay safe. Do you have anyone who could stay with you on the farm just as another set of eyes and ears? Family/ friends?
You have done nothing to deserve any of his BS and don't let his words touch your heart. You are a wonderful woman and mom and deserve to be happy and safe.
