The Confabulation Thread - Part 2

I closed the other thread for a reason.

All of you just leave it because we're going nowhere.
I'm sick of being surrounded by people who can't just be NICE about this. For goodness sake.

[MENTION=1]Kirk[/MENTION], None of this is your fault, you just come across as blunt and then people retaliate. Leave it darling, I understand you and what you mean and I think if you used your ideas more positively then people wouldn't be so harsh.
[MENTION=1041]Rebecca Chambers[/MENTION], due to the circumstances can't you understand why Kirk might think your comment was aimed at him? I thought it was too. Perhaps a "I'm sorry, it wasn't aimed at you Kirk" would be better rather than being rude just because.

[MENTION=1396]Phossix[/MENTION] you've been really constructive today so thank you, I just really need you to understand where our feelings come from. You probably feel more offended because you do a lot for the forum activity, rest assured we never meant you.

Please can we all be adults and chill with the needless hostility? This is NOT what CI is supposed to be about and so help me if I'm letting this be its downfall.

I don't view it as a personal offence. I was just angered by Kirk's behaviour.
But yes. I understand the frustration completely.

Doesn't mean I approve of it, but I understand it.

I don't want this site to be ripping at each other either.

I dislike the hostility as much as the next person, but if a thread wasn't created that can be perceived as one that undermines the current members, you might even say attacks, then this whole situation could have been avoided. 'It doesn't help that our current and previous staff have be preoccupied with other things to spend even a small amount of time on Confab-It, but maybe we'll look into getting more active/passionate people on board in the future.' is just one example.

Also, with Kirk saying 'Should we sell it to more experienced administrators who can turn it around?', it is suggestive that the issue you seem to be finding can be changed, yet it's clearly too much of a 'time-waster' to actually try and turn it around. You see where I am coming from, yes?

I understand Kirk is upset and what not, but in most of his snappy replies on that thread, there was at least one attack on the members and how we are all lazy ****ers who don't actually care about the site, don't put any effort into it and that both admin's work is going unnoticed.

If I didn't know better, I'd say that thread was guaranteed to receive and create hostility from the get go.
 
Kirk got tempered and angry yes, I'm not supporting his hostility, just his ideas and his points.
All we need is mutual understanding. :)

I'm happy to be happy with everyone else, I just wish everyone could quit with the passive aggressiveness and rude remarks. That's not what this site is for.

Edit Bowie I do agree with you and understand what you're saying. Kirk wasn't trying to say nobody was doing anything though, all we wanted was a little more.

I don't really know what to say or how to explain, I feel a bit upset about it.

Managed to get some replies though; first time the forum's been active in two weeks. :lol:

Anyway, this can all be summed up as "Kirk is a **** bag". Don't worry, used to it. No one's going to listen to what I have to say anyway.

Well, I truly am sorry that my internet has decided to be so **** for the past week and a half. I'll leave no further comment, other than just to say that I'm sorry that you didn't feel like I cared enough or was good enough. Between stress at work and stress at home, it all got to be too much. Doesn't mean that I don't care or I didn't try.
 
My user title thingy makes me want to go and listen to Justin Bieber haha :D
 
We had no idea Dani, we just thought you hadn't come back and there was no way of telling if your Internet was down, we're sorry :( either way we were left a bit stranded. You weren't here and we didn't know it wasn't your fault up until now.

You made Facebook statuses on the 17th of this month. You were able to inform us through there.

It doesn't matter anyway. Fed up of ex-staff making excuses not to do anything; thanks for letting us down.

Not sure whether you're feeling sorry for yourself, or generally just being utterly negative, pushing blame onto other people or subtly adding salt to the wound, so-to-speak.

It's comments like that which are adding to hostility.

Kirk, I am sorry. I've said it enough. I am sorry. I never meant to hurt you guys and you act like I did this out of spite. I'm tired of being painted as a bad guy.

Because you'll have alienated all of the members, and caused them to leave by treating them like this.

None of you know what happened in staff, so I'd at least ask you don't make judgements on that.
Otherwise, I appreciate any constructiveness.

Kirk said that because he's upset not to be a ****, he isn't a **** else I wouldn't be stupid enough to date him. Kirk can be blunt, but he's being so for a reason, even if its the wrong way to go about it.

I'm sorry you're getting caught in this, Lauren. You're being polite and understanding, yet also defending Kirk at every angle, why wouldn't you?

Kirk brought this all on, him showing how quickly and easily he gets upset and starts being rude over things not going his way certainly shows he's not cut out for administration of something where people are allowed to speak freely on subjects.

There's being blunt, and there's being rude. Getting upset is no excuse to be rude and taking it out on the majority of a forum, particularly with his specific-aimed blows on certain members. As Phossix said, I think he needs time off, because not only is he clearly pissed at the situation, but he's causing other people to chip in because of how rude he is being. It's not right.
