Um guys, I went to the Doctor................

Right now the doctor does not have me on thinners. He said if I get a clot he will put me on them but the real risk is when I'm pregnant. It's a hormonal thing.

I also have a greenfield filter that is supposed to help stop the clot but I guess I was supposed to have it removed and it's too late now. I wish I would have known it wasnt permanent. Yeah...someone missed the boat there.
 
Geeeez.............get off me peeps!!! I didn't go. :hides: I don't think there's any point to the test. I breath fine. I've already been hearing it from my DH and cookiemom so save it. ;)
 
Tell your DH to come on here and post what hospital you go to after the stroke so we know where to send cards, ok?
 
They did the more major tests which came back negative. This one this morning (with the nurse, not doc) was to test my breathing.............I'm not having trouble breathing. :9:

I'm gonna ask my doc about the thing MrsRed posted in another thread and see what she thinks.
 
I HIGHLY doubt your doctor ordered the test without having a good reason for it..... there's a reason for tests and undoubtedly, a reason why the doctor ordered that one

Yeah... The reason is cuz the economy sucks and she has insurance and he needs revenue. :giggles:

Your next step is to find out what you need to do to find out if you do indeed have a blood clot & if so how to get rid of it.

Do not diagnose yourself via the internet. Just because it sounds like what's going on, you can't rule other things out. That's why the docs are getting paid big bucks.


Seriously, call your **** doctor. Now! :tap:

seriously call the dr and find out what is wrong. it makes it harder on your kids when you are sick and they know something wrong. my mom has had a bad heart since before I was in high school and it sucked to sit in class worrying about her. she is too stubborn. even now she is too stubborn to go to the dr to get it checked out. her bp was 200/100 earlier. stroke zone, but nope she wont get it checked out and it puts stress on us for worrying about her.
 
Mrsmom, do you know how fast and easy a peakflow test is? Seriously so simple and quick. It's like the carnival game where you use the huge hammer to try to ring the bell at the top...only you use your air and see how high you can go. It's really like a game.

Maybe when they eliminate the lung possibility with this test they can move on to actually find where this clot is setting up camp. Lots of people worried about you. If you think you don't need that test then you should be discussing it with your Doc. Tell her why you feel it's unnecessary and ask why she thinks you need it since you are breathing fine. Have an open discussion about pros, cons, and alternative options. You are paying for her knowledge but you should be the ultimate decision maker with your health.... well.... that is of course unless we need to consider having you judged in competant because you are ducking appointments and ignoring the ticking time bomb. :(

I know you probably kidding but... that's FRAUD. Most doctors will only order what they can PROVE is needed, if no there is a chance he/she won't get paid for it.
 
SERIOUSLY? Have you lost your freaking mind? I'm sorry I love you but I'm going to be harsh and blunt.

I didn't say anything when peeps were posting that it wasn't serious because they didn't find the clot. Why? Because I'm more worried since they didn't find the clot and I didn't want to scare you. I've never in my whole life of coming from a family with SEVERE cardiac issues ever, ever heard of a "false positive" from the test indicating a clot.

Clots can move around and be carried through your bloodstream, often with catastrophic results. It is entirely possible (and likely) that you do in fact have a clot which is "mobile" (as opposed to being in your leg etc.). What's the big deal if you can breathe? I'll tell you....in graphic detail.

My father's blod clot (in his leg) traveled up through his blood stream and into his head...it killed him....he died alone on the couch after going to bed because he "didn't feel right". Oh and then the funeral home had to embalm his head separately from his body (why? The blood clot cut off the "blood flow" to his head so the embalming fluid couldn't go there the "traditional way").

Know what? He KNEW he had probably had a clot, he knew the RISKS but he CHOSE to bury his head in the sand and pretend everything was okie dokie because he didn't want to go to the doctor. And it was, except for that whole dying thing. Know what else? He wasn't a little old man when a clot killed him. He was 18 years older than you are right now.
Get your **** on the phone and call them and reschedule the **** appointment. When they give you the all clear you can come back and tell us all I told you so.
