The next time I paint a room, remind me not to tell DD19, "Just get whatever you think is a nice pink" and send her on her merry way to get it. Wait'll you guys see this pink. It's garish. It's like a little pink ****house in there. I hope the black accents calm it down, but I don't see that helping. This will be a room that the door stays closed to. :giggles:

On the bright side, it was free paint from the Ace Hardware deals over the summer, so at least this is a relatively free room makeover. :)

OK, does anyone think this is as assine as I do???

My DD school district is on strike. They called us at 11pm the other night to tell us this. Then they call us at 10pm last night to say still no agreement reached, make alternate plans for Thursday.

Today at 2 AM, they called and said tentative agreement so school on today. For crying out loud, you call us late every night, well past "normal" hours and then go a step further and say no school Thursday and then you call at the unGodly hour of 2AM to tell us school is on. You couldn't have just waited and said school resumes Friday, or better yet, call us at 6am and tell us this??? Totally ridiculous in my opinion.

I can't believe that calling that late is acceptable to them. I would have a major problem with that.

They called that late because if not enough kids attend, they will lose their fed funding for the day, and have it make it up at the end of the year.

So, it was OK to have to make up days due to their strike, but the instant they are ready, everyone must attend so a day doesn't have to be made up?

It is still ridiculous. If someone called that late and woke up my kids, I would have a great time cussing them out.

Sewer is unclogged !! Furnace is fixed (hopefully) !! And it cost me nothing !! Thank God for a bro in law who is a full time firefighter but moonlights as a plumber on his off days !!

AND sore throat is gone !! Wheeeeeeeeeeeee :cartwheel:

KNOCKING ON WOOD !! KNOCKING ON WOOD !!

A few years back I let my dd pick her own room color. You need to put your **** Maui Jims on to step inside without retina damage. It's blue, like aqua only electric blue. I don't know how she sleeps.

And that is the major problem with all of it.....ALL about what THEY want and don't give a **** about the kids.

Just got done volunteering in DS' kindergarten class this morning. I love how there is always that one mom who stands around and takes pictures or videos and never wants to help hand out supplies or help the kids with cutting or glue or paint or clean up or anything. Seriously, lady ... just stay at home because you're not "helping!"

that's totally inappropriate...I'd be steamed. :pms: That's one of my pet peeves anyway though is the crazy early/late phone calls....It's hard enough to get any time for sleep without that BS, sorry.

Our home phone is slowly dying and I'm looking at the new phone systems. I really want to get the ones that you can program not to ring at certain hours of the day, just straight to VM. Anyone have this?

If anyone calls me after 10 PM or before 8 AM, someone had better be dying. and I don't even have kids. I would be pissed too!

EXACTLY!! A call at that hour sends panic into someone cause it would only be an emergency for a normal person to call at that hour.

I think I'd be pissed about the 2am call, until they said "school's on!" I'd be really happy that they settled & my kids would be leaving for the day. :hides: Hopefully we'll get to the point where I like having them home on a random day, but we aren't there yet. :snort:

problem is, no school for her today anyway...she is sick. plus 4 mo old brother is too and i had just spent the last 1.5 hours trying to get him to sleep. AND then the phone call...................i am one tired mama.

OMG. That is insane. There is NOTHING that needs to be said daily at that hour.

Important stuffs like last night's games' scores and today's weather need to be rehearsed early in the morning, because that's how everyone does it, you know?

DH were up at 5:30-6:00 a.m. to get ready for work, they were up that time, I was still in bed, perfect time to talk about plans to sneak around behind my back? :snort:

Of course I am the bad person because I decided I would not put up with these anymore.
