    Karaoke version or Instrumental?

A ripped karaoke song has the actual lyrics/karaoke file and the mp3 file. You will only need the mp3 file. The difference in the various karaoke files is of course going to be the quality of the arrangement and the key that it's in. If you can find an instrumental of the original song, I...

..and that's why they net $75 a night while the bartender walks with $200 in tips. :triwink: If the bar could lease a system and get a monkey to run it for a fraction of the cost, I'm willing to bet that a great many would do so.

So, NOW what's your opinion about hosting public karaoke shows in the future?

This is a toy at Costco/etc. However, the future of karaoke will be a commercial version. Most likely provided by Coke or Budweiser and powered by one of the vendors listed above.

    Karaoke Haters

Things like this are already taking a large bite out of the "Bar DJ" business. Many bars are doing iPod nights. Eliminating the DJ is a logical business move (not that I'm happy about that..it just is). I'm guessing that fully automated karaoke systems aren't far behind. If Sound Choice...

Singers sing the same 3 or 4 songs everytime they come to karaoke!

Any bar gig is predictable, even when DJ'ing. People have songs like they have drinks. Regulars always order the same thing. .

    Do you Normalize?

I tried it before and ended up re-ripping a lot of stuff. It's not an exact science. Sometimes tracks end up sounding over-driven. But, there are certain labels or original recordings that need tweaking. Most of these tracks are from the early '70s and back. The problem is too often, all...

Venues that no longer have entertainment

Wow, I have never heard of an Applebees having entertainment. In fact, I don't believe I've ever seen any chain restaurant offer it (except the Hard Rock). Anyway, sorry to hear.

A Little Help From My Friends- PLEASE?!?

Joe, everything you just said in two posts is both honest and logical. This may sound crazy, but how about repeating it? You know....tell the truth? Just a thought. .

I have suspected two or three of these in the past week. It's pathetic really. Now we have Karaoke trolls.

I guess it's time to hire a good cover band and software developer and start a computer format Karaoke company. You'll be rich overnight. .

Another Thread to Argue About Sound Choice

Honestly, if I did karaoke, I would have burned all my SC discs by now and boycotted them. I thinks it's time to sing a different tune.

    Repeats or duplicates?

I'm guessing they are assuming that most people are running off of the physical discs. If that were the case, having multiple instances of popular tracks would make them easier to access. Maybe?

    A Question For Sound Choice

The source is the source, of course, of course. But, no one's concerned with the source of course..... It's much easier to beat the snot out of Wilbur I guess.
