That's strange - I do this ALL the time, and never had it go bad. I've used everything from softsoap to dish soap to Suave shampoo! But the first time you refill it, start with just small amounts so you can get the right soap/water ratio before the bottle is full.

So far no notes about not sending it, but I haven't in the past anyway. This year we did pencil ones, and last year was tattoos. The year before that there was some free deal on Rice Krispie treats, so that was a nice thing to send in! What worries me about the valentines with the candy included...

Huh? Picket the funeral? Haven't heard about that one - wouldn't have a clue as to why. Whenever you read about this story or overhear other people talk about it, it's amazing to me to hear the "should'ves." Like, the judge should've kept the kids away, the grandparents should've kept them...

Wanted to add one other thing to consider - when the time does come, see if your vet will make a house call to do it rather than having to take him there. Our vet has done this for us, and although it doesn't make it much easier, it seemed more right than having it done in the office.
